The MAIN CHARACTERS
Power of the TeamOur wines are born from a love for a unique territory and the desire to restore it, bringing to life a project made of land and people, in an extreme synthesis of purity.
The millennia-old tradition of bush vine cultivation demands almost entirely manual vineyard work, requiring dedication, passion, and experience, strength, and generosity.
These are the qualities our team imparts to our wines.
Wine moves the spring, joy grows like a plant, some rocks fall, the abysses are closed, the song is born.
Ode To Wine – Pablo Neruda

The Family
Tenuta di Castellaro was born from a morning walk in the Piana di Castellaro in the summer of 2005.
The Lentsch family, driven by their love for the island of Lipari, created a true work of art—a pure expression of the volcanic territory of the Aeolian Islands. These magical and unspoiled places embraced a dream, transforming it into a unique reality.
In the Vineyard
Andrea, Bartolo, Carlo, Catriel, Giacomo, and Giuseppe are just a few of our long-standing vineyard workers. Thanks to their skilled and tireless hands, from dawn to dusk, our vines are tended with dedication at every stage of cultivation: from new plantings to the harvest, including pruning and daily maintenance.

In the Cellar
The cellar and barrel room are the realm of the tireless Sebastiano, our Cellar Master, who, with great care, skillfully transforms the harvested fruit into the nectar we find in the bottle. After years spent in the most important wineries on Mount Etna, he left his beloved Randazzo to dedicate his heart and soul to Castellaro.
Wine Tourism and Hospitality
Barbara transitioned from tourism to wine, crafting experiences at Castellaro for both aficionados and curious newcomers.
Together with Maria and the team, she ensures a warm welcome for guests staying in the vineyard residences.

Our Wine Around the World
With over 15 years of experience in wine export, Daniele Sassi performs a crucial role with professionalism and passion: making our labels known everywhere, in Italy and around the world.
In the office, Serena and Rosa are the indispensable operational arms of our administration.
The Agronomist
Alessandro Zanutta is the agronomic consultant for Tenuta di Castellaro. A true Friulian, he specializes in designing new plantings and in the recovery and restructuring of old vineyards.
Before becoming a consultant, Alessandro worked for 20 years as the head of the technical assistance service for the Collio Consortium and collaborated on numerous projects, gaining experience throughout Italy as well as in Austria, Germany, and especially California.
His training activities are essential for the Tenuta, involving all vineyard collaborators throughout the year with theoretical courses, practical sessions, and vineyard tutoring.

The Enologist
Emiliano Falsini, born and raised in Tuscany, graduated with highest honors in Viticulture and Enology from the University of Florence.
He gained two fundamental experiences at the start of his professional career: at Robert Mondavi Winery in California and Villa Maria Estate in New Zealand.
Since 2000, he has collaborated with the Matura Group and with significant wineries, including organic, biodynamic, and conventional vineyards located in various Italian regions. After participating in training internships at the Bordeaux Faculty of Oenology, he has served as an international judge at important wine competitions.
His philosophy: “I feel free to interpret wine by humbly listening to what nature intends to communicate with its strength and energy; for this reason, I am firmly convinced that the work to create a great wine begins in the vineyard. The elegance of a wine is already present in the soil that nurtured it.”
