Philosophy

Contemporary Craftmanship

With this concept, we encapsulate our winemaking model. The use of the most advanced technology in the vineyard and the cellar aims to enhance the values associated with the most ancient winemaking methods.

We believe in social sustainability through the continuous development and appreciation of human resources, and in environmental sustainability, which we have expressed through perfect integration with the territory.

Centuries-Old Methods and Love for the Land: the Passion for Winemaking

The first phase of our winemaking project was carried out through a massal selection of the oldest vineyards in the Aeolian archipelago. Malvasia, originating from the island of Crete, owes its name to the ancient port of Monemvasia in the Peloponnese, from which Hellenic wines embarked on Mediterranean routes. Corinto Nero is a very ancient grape variety from the land of the Greek city of Corinth. These two grape varieties were introduced during the period of Hellenic colonization, finding the ideal conditions on the small volcanic islands to express their qualities.

Massal and Clonal Selection

The French nurserymen Pepinieres Guillame, specializing in the production of quality grapevines since 1895 and among the most renowned worldwide, subsequently carried out a massal and clonal selection of the two grape varieties.

Thus, through research aimed at achieving excellence in viticulture, a method of training and cultivating vines was born. This method, using advanced technologies and tools, maximizes the enhancement of the winemaking tradition of the territory.

Alberello Cultivation

We have decided to adopt the ancient Alberello vine cultivation system for all our vineyards, a high-density regime where each plant is treated as an individual and the vineyard as a community. The planting pattern follows a quincunx layout, where each vine is at the apex of an equilateral triangle, spaced 1.20 meters by 1.20 meters apart, ensuring the plant has full 360° exposure to all weather conditions. Each Alberello vine has a taproot system that extends deep into the soil, reaching areas rich in minerals and other elements that characterize all our wines.

The loving care we dedicate to every stage of cultivation and production allows our natural wines to stand out for their uniqueness.
